Memorial Day weekend, amid all the beach festivities, the Island family made an impressive purchase. We pondered, brow-rubbed, head-scratched and kicked the dirt around a little, and finally, after securing a family consensus, we done bought ourselves some watercraft.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are now the proud owners of a Club 400. For all of you not up on the latest and greatest in pleasure craft, here it is.
So, maybe I’m stretching the definition of “pleasure craft†a wee bit, but so be it. If you are interested in yacht acquisitions, these will likely appear in later posts and/or on another blog. Just telling the truth here.
It might be a humble boat, but it’s our boat. Plus, it was more than able to stand up to the waves brought by the storms that were brewing offshore during the holiday weekend and into last week.
Sometimes, it did take an LCB to get the small people beyond the smallest wave at the shoreline. The Club 400 may be, in technically accurate terms, an inflatable boat, but it’s heavier than it looks, it can catch a wind like nobody’s business and it takes some strength to maneuver.
Sometimes, for my oldest, it was jump-in-and-go time.
Here, the boys sit for a moment before heading back out again.
Later, we found that the Club 400 is a dual-purpose boat.
Its secondary function, when it’s owned by three certain small people, is to act as a small pool.
No clue why it now has a slow(ish) leak.
Love it! Kids are great at that age. They will find fun in everything.
For sure. Wish I was as talented in that regard.
Now that is a darn fine piece of watercraft! Looks like your kiddos had a blast with their new vessel. Due in part, I am sure, to it’s versatility.
If nothing else, we got our money’s worth and provided entertainment for a good part of the beach.
