Some days are just meant for building castles by the sea. The small people recently found themselves with two such days, back to back. Here’s what they did.
Day One:
The name of this day’s game was to build the castles as close to the water as possible.
The tide charts were not consulted prior to construction,
thus requiring the ever-futile but highly entertaining tidal dance.
The small people built larger the second day, deciding they wanted to rule from inside their castle via their misshapen sand thrones.
And so they sat enthroned, two princes and a princess, ruling over their small corner of the beach for one brief shining moment.
The monarchy’s shine reached its apex toward the end of the afternoon, however, when the younger prince (doing double-duty as court jester) faked an emergency, just to get his mother the queen all riled up.
Folks, you can be sure of two things. First, the hole was not as deep as he wanted it to appear.
And second, the prince’s timeout as punishment for the aforementioned offense was entirely ineffective.

How blessed are they to grow up living on the beach?!?! We moved to Florida from Missouri last year & live about 2 miles from the closest beach. I would have LOVED to have lived here when I was growing up, or even when my daughter was growing up. They’ll have so many memories of the ocean!
